Flanders Heritage Agency (FHA) is the agency of the Flemish Government that deals with immovable cultural heritage, broadly defined as archaeology, built and maritime heritage and cultural landscapes. The Agency protects immovable heritage, supports its conservation and carries out policy-oriented research in Flanders.
The Flanders Heritage agency wants the care for immovable heritage to be taken for granted by everybody, giving shape and colour to Flanders both now and in the future. The Head office of FHA is in Brussels and there are 3 regional front offices. FHA has 255 staff members (234 FTE).
The Flanders Heritage Agency:
- supports and implements policy
- is a scientific institution
- has an accredited heritage depository, archives and a library
