Presentation

The National Archives of Finland (NAF) has over 200 shelf kilometres of archives from all over Finland, from 14th Century to present day. Most of our archives are from governmental organisations but some 10 percent of the archives are from private citizens. Openness is one of our key values.

Our current key interest is to provide high quality online services for researchers and private citizens. We have implemented HTR solution to allow easier access to 19th Century court records. We are also planning to digitise most recent archival materials using mass digitisation.
