The Regional Secretariat for Northwest Europe and North America together with the City of Bruges and its Mayor, Mr. Dirk De fauw, invite all member cities as well as interested experts and students to join us in Bruges in October. Please download the invitation with the preliminary program and further information here
We gather on Wednesday October 11 at 16.30 already for our yearly Regional Meeting for our OWHC members of the Regional Secretariat for Northwest Europe and North America. The official reception at Bruges city hall will follow at 18.30 under auspices of Mayor Dirk De fauw. We will kick off our Regional Conference 2023 on Thursday October 12. This full day will be dedicated first to two inspiring keynotes and then have a focus on our host city Bruges and the challenges for its heritage sites. In different laboratories, all participants will be asked for their input and experience in the heritage field, especially with a focus on climate change effects. On Friday, we will dedicate a half day to intense work on the regional level and organize a workshop on the urgent topic of how to mitigate the challenges of climate change and its effects on our heritage sites. We want to hear from our cities and their examples and use this as a “Round Table” in the sense of the Québec Roadmap to gather and discuss and learn from each other about short-term interventions and long-term projects.
The City of Brussels invites the OWHC members to extend the trip to Belgium and join an optional programme on Saturday October 14 to learn about World Heritage site Brussels.
